Science Olympiad is a STEM club that competes in March within Santa Clara County in 23 different events involving build events, inquiry activities, labs and tests. Ms. Brown and Ms. Chiu are coaches for the team that meets on Mondays from 3:00-4:30 PM in the STEM building.
To maximize the number of students who can participate in clubs after school, Science Olympiad members cannot be part of the Math Club. Applications will open in August, and the final team will be selected after Math Club tryouts are completed. Science Olympiad only accepts 7th and 8th graders at this time.

Students must commit to competing at the invitational tournaments in December (virtual), February (Kennedy Middle School), and the county competition on March . Students do not take a test for entry into Science Olympiad, but they will be considered based on previous year's grades, recommendation from their science teacher, and a short essay. Students are expected to be self-motivated, mature, and be able to work independently.
Science Olympiad meets on Mondays from 3:00 - 4:30 PM in the STEM building, and on Fridays after school for those that want to work on their build events or study with their partners. The first interest meeting will be entered into the Morning Announcements and will be held during lunch.
